The Beehive at the Expat Expo in Cham

Beehive School Has a Fence

Saturday, April 24th, the fence went up at the school. We would like to extend a big thank you to all that came out and volunteered their time, effort, and hard work. Without you, this would've been impossible. Now we can rest assured knowing our children are playing outside in a secured area.

Preschool Phonics

Play Group Hard at Work

In playgroup, we have continued our Spring Unit focusing on the life cycle of a dandelion as well as creating our April flowers. The pictures above show the students working on the life cycle of a dandelion as well as free structured play where students played image bingo where they had to match the image on their card with the images piled in the middle. Students also worked on learning their colors and shapes and threading these on a string to create a catepillar. Great work playgroup.

Structured Play Time

The playgroup spent time playing games as part of their structured free time. We played one game where they had to catch as many marbles that they could in the mouth of the squirrel. During this time, students were asked to count how many marbles they had and what color they were. It always showed them cause and effect.

The other structured game was a fishing game and students had to see how many fish they could catch on their magnetic fish pole. The students played very well together. This was a good exercise not only in academic learning, but social skills (learning to take turns). Great job playgroup.

Playgroup Arts and Crafts

This week e are focusing on Spring and learning about how flowers grow, learning how to classify flowers in size from small to big, and the life cycle of a dandelion. To further their study, students made their own flowers out of cupcake paper, pom poms, and pipe cleaners. They also are making beautiful canvas bags with their hand prints as flowers which will be hanging on their hooks to put their extra clothes. Nice work playgroup!
